The Acres Calendar
6:11 PM - June 22, 2008 - by Mike
Sorry it took me so darn long, but I finally have The Acres calendar in a functioning state. Now I'm not saying it is perfect, or by any means aesthetically pleasing - but it will get the job done. I'll be making updates and improvements later as I have time.
Be sure to let me know if you like/dislike anything in particular, find any bugs, or in general have some ideas for how I can make it better.

1:41 PM - March 12, 2008 - by Sandee
Mike was informed today that the County is rescinding their offer to employ him as the new IT guy. This is quite a blow, as Mike had a bright future in front of him. He won't be able to give more financial support to his daughter, the center of his world. Unfortunately Mike can't even see his daughter because apparently it has been said that Mike is abusive to his daughter and her mother. This fabrication is hurtful to all of us. Fortunately for us, we know that the truth will come out.

Neurology Update
9:02 AM - March 8, 2008 - by Anna
I returned to Grand Forks yesterday by the request of my neurologist. My latest MRI showed several new areas of inflammation, and little or no improvement to old areas. My latest EEG (which was normal a few months ago) showed abnormal activity during the auditory test. Based on these results, my MS seems to be in a very aggressive state and my neurologist requested to see me as soon as possible in order to discuss our next step. My current medication is obviously not working. He described a few other medications that I could use, but suggested one called Tysabri. It is a newer drug, so there isn't much information on long-term use, but it is shown to be incredibly effective in the short-run. I will need to travel to Grand Forks once a month in order to receive Tysabri by IV, and I need to stop both the MS medications I am currently taking. One of my current medications is a steroid, and my neurologist explained that you CANNOT be on Tysabri and take a steroid. Steroids weaken the immune system, and one side effect of Tysabri is the possible development of infection -in particular an infection in the brain. If my immune system weakens for any reason I am at a much higher risk of developing this infection that would result in brain damage or death. I read many comments of patients currently taking Tysabri online. Most of them (probably about 80-90% of them) were positive, hopeful, and described improvement. I am very scared, but trying to keep a positive and hopeful outlook.

12:07 AM - March 2, 2008 - by Mike
The farm sold today. We have about a month and a half to move out. Where to put all of our stuff...
Me and mom will be looking for an apartment in town. May be we can find something nice.
Also, for those who don't already know, I got a job at the Roseau County Courthouse. I will be working in the IT department. My first day will be Monday, March 17th.
Wish us luck with these big changes!

MRI Update
9:03 PM - December 11, 2007 - by Anna
I had another MRI today in Grand Forks. The results show that the areas of inflammation that were found before are improving, but more areas have appeared. This means that the treatment I've been under has not been doing exactly what we need it to, so my neurologist has added another step to my treatment. Once a month I will need to go to the clinic for an IV of Solu-Medrol, which is a steroid to help enhance the Copaxone injections (which I will still need to take on a daily basis). Other than that, everything is going very well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!

Quitting My Job
9:58 PM - November 20, 2007 - by Mike
For those of you who do not know, I am quitting my job at Vision-Ease Lens. They have been rather good to me and there was some decent perks. However, I do not feel that Vision-Ease is the right fit for me. My last day will be Wednesday, December 5th.
I have decided to seek other opportunities, hopefully ones that challenge me more and are closer to home. I know this will be a challenge, but I need to be with my family.
I have already called Cenex and I have my job back with them. Marshall needs some help in the food service five days a week and I am willing to help him out. I will start working there on Thursday, December 6th.
I know Cenex doesn't pay as much, but being close to my family is much more important to me right now than money. I plan on it just being temporary.
Please keep yours eyes open for various jobs in the Roseau area - even if they are not technology related.
I hope to have support from all of you, and Mama I'm coming home!
